A special issue of the newsletter today! I just found out that pre-ordering is now available for my new book Failing Our Future: How Grades Harm Students, and What We Can Do about It (out in August from Johns Hopkins University Press)!
I spent 4 years writing this book, and I’m very proud of it. It was the most difficult thing I’ve ever written, for lots of reasons, but I can’t wait to share it with the world.
The first blurb for the book is out as well, and it’s from Cathy Davidson, Senior Advisor to the Chancellor and former Founding Director of the Futures Initiative at the City University of New York (CUNY). She is also the author of some fabulous books like The New Education (Basic Books, 2017).
Cathy generously writes the following about Failing Our Future:
Joshua Eyler turns the seemingly radical idea that we should abolish grades into a practical, principled, common sense agenda for the future of education and, more importantly, for the best future for our children. Highly recommended to anyone who cares about students today.
Pre-orders are a HUGE deal in the publishing world. They give books more visibility on sites like Amazon and Bookshop.org, and they help to draw the attention of media outlets before and just after the book’s publication
So, if you’re interested in the book and think you might want to purchase it eventually, I would be very grateful if you considered pre-ordering it.
More soon!
